WHAT IS THE
KINDERGARTEN DEVELOPMENT CHECK (KDC)?
Join Xavier and Kylie as they learn about how the
Kindergarten Development Check (KDC) is a great tool that lets teachers see how kids are growing and learning!
Discover as Xavier and Kylie explore how the KDC checks how you think, talk, play, and even how you behave like a superhero! But here's the secret - it's not just for fun.
The KDC helps teachers ensure that every kindergarten hero is on the path to being a great learner!
Watch as Kylie and Xavier detail how your teacher or special person can help you on your learning journey and when the KDC check happens during your child’s kindergarten year.
The Kindergarten Development Check (KDC) is designed to assist teachers in monitoring the development of kindergarten students and identifying those at risk of not achieving expected developmental outcomes.
The check provides information to support teacher's educational planning and referral to allied health professionals when required.
Thank you to our superhero duo, Xavier and Kylie, for making this fun and informative video about the KDC!
This video is a collaboration between Connected Beginnings Lutruwita/Tasmania and The Department for Education, Children and Young People.
Our collective aim was to demystify the process and purpose behind the AEDC and the KDC and to deliver vital information that is shared directly from an Aboriginal perspective, fostering increased understanding and engagement within communities.
