CONNECTED BEGINNINGS PROGRAM

The Connected Beginnings program is a Commonwealth program funded by the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Aged Care.  The Connected Beginnings program is delivered under an innovative collective impact framework.

The Connected Beginnings Lutruwita/Tasmania program is delivered by an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre.

Our team collaborates with the community, organisations and early years services to identify the community’s strengths, skills and resources.

We work together to identify issues affecting their community and co-design solutions to improve school readiness and health outcomes for Aboriginal children aged 0-5 years.

Connected Beginnings is making measurable gains for Closing the Gap, helping Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families get involved in culturally safe early childhood services.

Connected Beginnings Lutruwita/Tasmania and our sites near Kutalayna/Jordan River, Pataway/Burnie and Kanamaluka/River Tamar pay our respects to Palawa/Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the original owners of Lutruwita/Tasmania. And we acknowledge elders past and present.
